JOB PURPOSE:

The Employment Services Case Manager will identify and develop optimal employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, while providing support to clients and empowering them to obtain and maintain employment.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal Responsibilities:



  • Develops employment placements and opportunities for individuals on caseload in a timely manner.
  • Meets annual job placement quota.
  • Prepares extensive written benchmark reports by required timelines.
  • Communicate with Program Manager status of job development for each person on caseload weekly and reach out to same when met with obstacles to meet job placement goal.
  • Accurate and timely submission of necessary reporting documents to funder for services completed and invoicing. Along with all required supplemental documentation.
  • Actively markets Job Supportive Services to employers in order to secure sites for job placement of our program clients. This includes attending conferences, meetings, trade events, hiring fairs, etc.


Client Responsibilities:



  • Coordinates with the individual, their employer, family support, and community advocates as needed.
  • Provide client progress updates to as directed.
  • Document phone calls, emails and time spent with individuals we serve and their families Bird'sEye CMS software system
  • Provide individualized support to match each client to an appropriate job based on job interest/skills. Working with program team to ensure clients are given personalized service to meet client needs.
  • Provide employment services to include: resume, job references, interview job search, pre-employment, job acceptance, employment data sheet, and job application training.
  • Provide life skills training to include: conflict resolution training, anger management training, anxiety management training, financial literacy training, digital literacy training, and additional life skills training as assigned.


Employer Client Responsibilities:



  • Develops relationships with new employers within the community to increase the potential employer network.
  • Responsible for explaining our services to potential employers.
  • Maintains relationships with employers.
  • Responsible for following up with existing employer contacts and potential new employers to determine their hiring needs.
  • Meets with targeted employers to identify employment opportunities within the community.
  • Where needed, negotiates with employers to customize job responsibilities for the client that are consistent with the client's abilities and address unmet needs of employers.


Misc. Responsibilities:



  • Uses excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and effective time management skills.
  • Travel from job site to job site on a daily basis depending on caseload.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service, in everything you do, placing the client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities."


EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required

Undergraduate degree in social work, social sciences, psychology, disability services, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of experience relevant to the position, 1 year of experience working with youth (14-24), and 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.

LICENSES: Driver's License with clean record required.

VEHICLE: Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, insurance, and willingness to drive to off-site locations required. Able and willing to travel around Houston and surrounding areas up to 75% of time.

WORK LOCATION: Must be able to work from home in a private space and on-site location.

OTHER:

* Proficiency in English (written and spoken language skills).

* Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to community services preferred.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

* Must be available to work evenings and weekends occasionally.

* Must be able to work independently.

* Must be willing to obtain UNTWISE certifications for JST and JPS
