Job Description

The Opportunity

The Department of Physical Sciences at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Campus, invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Engineering Physics position. The position is available beginning in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 depending on candidate availability.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field, and be able to teach engineering and physics courses in support of our Engineering Physics program as well as introductory physics courses as part of the Department's service mission. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to innovative undergraduate teaching, dedication to mentoring, and an interest in service to the education community. The expected teaching load will be 24 credits (8 sections) per academic year, typically distributed as four 3-credit courses per semester.

The Physical Sciences Department on the DB Campus is home to over 40 full-time faculty and ~360 students in our three programs: Engineering Physics (BS/MS/EP), Space Physics (BS), and Astronomy & Astrophysics (BS).
