Utility Food Service

Job Overview:

The main functions of the Utility Food Service Worker are washing of dishes, removal of garbage and trash, and overall sanitation of the department.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

• Previous food service experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, 3:30pm-7:30pm each day / 4:00p-8:00p each day
• Rotating Weekends and holidays
• Part Time

Essential Functions:

• Sweeps and mops kitchen and cafeteria
• Disposes of trash and cardboard,
• Has knowledge of MSDS sheets
• Fills out sanitization logSoaks, washes, rinses, sanitizes and stores all pots, pans and utensils used in food preparation for service.
• All items are free from food, soil and grease,
• Sanitized using the appropriate chemicals,
• Stored on racks properly to allow air circulation,
• Removes all garbage from the department as needed and instructed by the supervisor and places clean liners in garbage cans,
• Cleans and sanitizes his hands as needed,
• Garbage dumpsters are cleaned and sanitized daily,
• Demonstrates flexibility and initiative on the job, evidenced by the
• The following: utilize lulls in the workload to assist other department personnel in completing assignments,
• Keeps the work area in a clean, neat and organized fashion,
• Understands the duties of other comparable positions in the department so that coverage can be maintained during staffing shortages
• Performs other duties as assigned
