JOB TITLE: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

DEPARTMENT: FINANCE

REPORTS TO: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Platform Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our finance team as an Accountant. This role will play a key role in managing project financials, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint and be able to support project setup, invoicing, and financial reporting processes.

This position is eligible for remote work.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process project billing, prepares customers' invoices, collect payments, and regularly review and reconcile billing records to general ledger
  • Set up new projects in Deltek Costpoint, ensuring alignment with contractual and financial requirements.
  • Monitor project funding, modifications, and closeouts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Work closely with project managers to track budgets, expenses, and revenue recognition.
  • Reconciling daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual cash receipt transactions and reporting.
  • Support the company's financial procedures, records, and statements for compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Support in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements that are compliant with DCAA, FAR, CAS, and GAAP compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets.
  • Supports with ad hoc projects and analysis as needed.
  • Process Work in Process (WIP) to estimate the financial value of jobs in the general ledger while the jobs are ongoing.
  • Maintain monthly schedules to support journal entries.
  • Perform variance analysis.
  • Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with deltek costpoint project billing and set up
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Strong proficiency in Deltek Costpoint (billing, project setup, and reporting)
  • In depth understanding of DCAA and GAAP requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, organized and process oriented
  • Excellent decision making, analytical, and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation
  • Government contracting experience in the aerospace and/or manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge in FAR and CAS
  • Experience in Deltek administration
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Ability to traverse manufacturing facility
