Posting Summary |
The Rutgers University Physician Assistant Program seeks a dedicated and experienced Adjunct Pharmacy Instructor to deliver a primary care-focused pharmacy curriculum to pre-clinical PA students. This curriculum is integrated within a systems-based, modular course framework, with in-person classes generally held weekly on Tuesday mornings for three hours from August through February.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Course Development & Instruction
- Develop, update, and refine course syllabi, learning objectives, and outcomes to align with program competencies.
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based lectures and case studies tailored to course learning outcomes.
- Design and administer assessments using ExamSoft, a digital assessment platform.
Student Engagement & Support
- Provide exam reviews, counseling, and academic advising to support student success.
- Foster an interactive and inclusive learning environment.
Curriculum Coordination & Assessment
- Collaborate with the Director of Didactic Education, Pharmacy Coordinator, and modular course directors to ensure the integration of pharmacy content within the broader curriculum.
- Contribute to the Course Director's Annual Analysis and Action Plan to evaluate and enhance course effectiveness.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Required:
- PharmD (or equivalent)
- Active or eligible licensure by the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in pharmacy-related topics.
- Strong ability to develop and deliver engaging, high-quality instruction.
- Excellent collaborative and communication skills to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching in PA, medical, or other health professions programs.
- Familiarity with ExamSoft or similar assessment platforms.
