Are you eager to leverage your expertise in Boiler Plant operations? We have the perfect position for you! South Mountain Restoration Center, a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility managed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is in search of skilled and dependable individuals to oversee the boiler plant, ensuring it meets the steam requirements of the facility.

Nestled in the picturesque mountains adjacent to Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center offers a unique working environment as a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility under the auspices of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of one or more boilers, ensuring compliance with the manufacturer's guidelines to effectively meet the steam requirements of the facility. Your duties will include the operation, regulation, and upkeep of essential equipment required for steam generation, which encompasses feed water pumps, forced draft fans, condensate return pumps, fuel oil pumps, air compressors, water softeners, chemical feed pumps, air dryers, pressure reducing valve (PRV) stations, as well as the monitoring and control of pressure, level, and temperature parameters.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Position #1: 2nd shift, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Position #2: Relief Operator which is the swing shift between 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM), and 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM), Sunday-Saturday, with rotating days off.
  • Schedule is subject based on operational needs

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
