About the Role:

The Global Director, Product Management is responsible for ensuring that the marketing, business objectives, and team development are met for the Endoluminal Surgery (ELS) franchise. This includes setting the strategic direction and vision for the worldwide business, meeting revenue and profitability targets globally, ensuring the product portfolio continues to grow to support the future business, building a motivated/ high performing marketing management team and utilizing matrix management skills to influence cross functional teams across quality, legal, regulatory, operations, clinical, medical affairs, regional marketing and regional sales to buy into and achieve organizational goals

OurEndoluminal Surgery (ELS) portfoliofocuses on advanced technologies for treating various gastrointestinal conditions, ranging from simple polypectomies to very advanced tissue resection procedures for the minimally invasive treatment of early-stage cancer. With the rapid development of technology and techniques, conditions that traditionally required invasive surgical procedures can now be done as outpatient procedures through a flexible endoscope. This portfolio is poised to be a major driver of divisional growth globally in the coming years. The strategies for each of the technologies within the ELS portfolio are complex and require differentiated commercial capabilities to ensure success.

Work Mode:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA, office at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team that lives the Boston Scientific core values by attracting, developing, and leading direct reports including Group Marketing Managers and Product Managers.
  • Develops motivational annual and long-term objectives with direct reports. Measures performance of direct reports against success criteria and provides feedback. Recruits & develops future leaders for the organization.
  • Directs development of integrated franchise marketing plans and budgets. Develops 3-year strategic plans. Proactively assesses franchise issues/opportunities and champions implementation to support plan execution.
  • Leads execution of franchise strategy by influencing key functional directors and VPs, including R&D, sales, reimbursement, new product forecasting, C&P, clinical and regulatory.
  • Works with the FLT R&D lead to implement a 3-10 year Portfolio plan, utilizing the hybrid portfolio model to ensure the business continues to grow and meet market needs.
  • Drives/develops global business strategies and sales channel execution plans.
  • Identifies, recommends, and works with New Business Development on acquisition strategies for franchise.
  • Manages execution of specific channel plans in ways consistent with product messaging strategies.
  • Drives marketing science research and analysis to make strategic choices.
  • Proactively engages functional management teams on system issues to maintain project milestones. Champions change where appropriate.
  • Applies cross-franchise/functional knowledge in franchise/industry to support teams in managing complex internal/external project issues.
  • Influences change of internal systems to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality. Understands and complies with all regulations governing the quality systems.
  • Identifies and eliminates potential personal/process roadblocks for the team. Attracts/Builds management bench strength for the franchise/division. Actively coaches others.
  • Ensure a learning mindset among team members and foster continuous improvement approach to the business, products, people and processes. Understand future business needs and set expectations for excellence accordingly (skill set, product, or process). Drive change by establishing priorities, then developing plans defining roles and accountabilities for improvement, and metrics for evaluating success



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relative experience
  • 5+ years experience in complex commercial program management or team leadership in med technology, pharma or biotech
  • Global marketing and product launch experience
  • Understanding of all disciplines of marketing, marketing strategy, commercial/sales processes & operations
  • Travel up to 30% domestically and globally.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced degree such as Masters of Business Administration
  • Significant collaboration and demonstrated success in working across a global, matrixed organization
  • Commercial and customer-first mindset, track record in working across multiple geographic regions
  • Executive presence and ability to influence across multiple levels
  • Track record of success leading cross-functionally to develop plans and tools to maximize sales potential

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
