About the role

Accountable for all sourcing and contract management for the Lab Supplies category (lab supplies, consumables, chemicals, reagents, PPE), supporting the business across R&D and QC laboratories. This will include the development and implementation of category strategies; the contracting for master/service/product agreements within the categories and identification of appropriate buying channels; the management of supplier relationships that fall within scope and outside of the enterprise SRM structure for this category and for ensuring the suppliers key to the category commit to deliver GSK's performance/quality/financial requirements.

About the responsibilities
  • Hold complex sourcing and category management role in GSK
  • Represent key role in Strategy Development
  • Handle contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance; manage / monitor ongoing negotiations with 3rd parties
  • Work across multiple countries requiring high cultural awareness
  • Champion the sourcing group management process and policies across functions and links these to GSK's strategic direction
  • Know and utilise complex business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Implement and support procurement strategies to maximise supplier leverage
  • Hold significant external supplier knowledge
  • Manage the end-to-end process to challenge sourcing approach and scope of the business requirements. Challenge and drive continuous improvements with in-house Vs third party Vs outsourcing approach.
  • Manage Lab Supplies strategies and collaborate where there are synergies with other global procurement groups and/or categories Direct & Sites, Lab Services, Lab Equipment, Capital & Logistics, Tech, etc.
About you
  • Master degree in procurement, business, finance or relevant scientific discipline
  • Relevant experience in procurement supporting global Laboratory categories
  • Proven negotiations and contract management skills.
  • English proficiency (written and oral), other languages will be a plus
  • Leadership/communication skills
  • Stakeholder management skills
