At Boston Children's Hospital, the Research Informatics Group is dedicated to advancing clinical and biomedical research through innovative IT solutions. Our team of experts collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop and maintain compliant, reliable, and cutting-edge technologies that support research initiatives (e.g. genomics, FDA regulated clinical trials, imaging and bioinformatics).

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Clinical Research IT Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical and biomedical research technologies, including software, computing infrastructure, and analysis, with a focus on compliance and reliability. This role involves project leadership and coordination and requires prior leadership experience in healthcare settings.

This Senior Clinical Research IT Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Solution Development: Design and implement IT solutions tailored to support research initiatives and projects (with emphasis on novel and emerging technologies).
  • Service Enhancement: Collaborate with team members to refine and expand the portfolio of services offered.
  • Compliance Maintenance: Ensure all IT infrastructure and solutions comply with evolving regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Update and maintain compliance documentation as well as user-facing documentation pages to ensure clarity and accessibility.
  • Communication: Document and communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders effectively.
  • Team Coordination: Facilitate connections between researchers and the relevant teams and experts within the organization.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage a portfolio of complex clinical research IT projects, ensuring timely reporting and maintaining quality control.

To qualify you must have:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; doctorate level degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in emerging clinical and biomedical research IT technologies (e.g. Cloud, AI).
  • Strong understanding of regulated computing environments and compliance standards.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior leadership experience in healthcare settings is highly desirable.
