Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on and mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician I to support the repair, construction, and maintenance of highly automated manufacturing equipment. As a critical team member, you will work with state-of-the-art automation technologies, including laser welding, mechanical swaging, PCB handling/testing, metal stamping, and high-speed discrete component assembly. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electromechanical systems while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnose and repair electromechanical systems on automated equipment.

Perform setup, operation, testing, and weekly preventive maintenance tasks.

Troubleshoot mechanical errors, safety issues, and operating inefficiencies in production processes.

Ensure optimal performance of automated systems using hand tools and power tools.

Startup, Installation & Debugging

Assist in the installation, qualification, and debugging of new automation equipment.

Execute equipment and safety inspections, generating work orders as needed.

Work with small, machined parts, performing cleaning, inspection, and lubrication as part of preventative maintenance.

Documentation & Process Optimization

Maintain accurate maintenance records in the maintenance database.

Communicate issues effectively to technicians, engineers, and supervisors.

Use data analysis to help identify root causes and corrective actions.

Technical Skills & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Read and understand prints/drawings to construct basic assemblies.

Work with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and sensor-based automation.

Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and company guidelines.


Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

1-3 years of hands-on experience working with hand tools in manufacturing, construction, HVAC, automotive, or related industries.

Experience executing repair and maintenance activities on equipment.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

Strong mechanical aptitude-understanding of automated systems, repair, and maintenance.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical systems.

Basic knowledge of MS Office applications for record-keeping.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with automated equipment troubleshooting and debugging.

Familiarity with crimping, laser welding, mechanical swaging, and precise component assembly.

Knowledge of industrial sensors (pressure switches, inductive/photoelectric sensors, reed switches, load cells).

Understanding of cam-driven linkages, discrete component assembly, and automation.
