Commercial Collateral Booking Analyst
The Commercial Collateral Booking Analyst I analyze loan documents of a high degree of complexity, identify terms of the collateral to setup on the Commercial Loan Accounting system. The analysis must determine which collateral is securing which loans as collateral may cross over to secure several different loans. The collateral records loans must be booked timely & accurately to the commercial loan account system for the Insurance, Tax monitor and notables to be tracked.
Position Responsibilities:
Asset setup on commercial loan system for Balance sheet reporting
- Analysis loan documents of various complexity levels, to identify terms of the collateral securing the loan. The scope of loan documentation reviews includes: security agreements, flood certifications, mortgages, UCC's documentation.
- Independently analyze loan transactions for proper system processing, completeness of information, and verify that documentation meets Comerica's credit policy and department procedures.
- Utilize 10 different systems (Mainframes, Web, Imaging systems, Applications, etc.) to complete analysis and booking of transactions.
- Understand new and existing loan terms to understand collateral structure for setting up collateral on the loan or across multiple loans.
- Maintains and set up collateral using the AFS system, while meeting production standards with a very high degree of accuracy.
- Handle different loan types that requires utilizing multiple systems to view and research documents to determine correct loan data to setup.
Customer Service
- Collaborates to resolve documentation exceptions with loan closing officers, VP relationship mangers, SVP group managers, lending assistants, administrative staff, and other various departments to resolve exceptions as needed to ensure accuracy of loan.
- Contact for interaction with team members for processing questions, disputes and resolution of documentation and booking exceptions.
Risk Management/ Project Participation
- Represent as SME on minor projects for booking collateral.
- Assist with cross training of team and training of new employees.
- Assist with developing and revising departmental procedures.
Position Qualifications:
- Some college courses. Accounting course or 2 years experience in Financial Services or Lending Operations
- 2 years of experience in Banking, Accounts payable and receivable, office environment
- 1 year of experience in Commercial Lending Documentation
- 1 year of customer service experience
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
