Forcepoint is looking for a skilled and motivated hands-on Lab Manager to join our Research & Development team in our Campbell, CA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our R&D lab virtualization environment, ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of the Lab infrastructure, and directly supporting the success of our R&D teams.

As the Lab Manager, you will maintain, upgrade and install software ensuring the Lab supports all our applications and 3rd parties. You will keep our systems healthy and operational to best support all the different R&D groups.

We are building new products and adding to existing ones, in a fast-paced, dynamic, and agile environment. In addition to working with the different engineering teams, you will also work closely with peers across the organization. A proactive can-do attitude is a must.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and maintain all Lab IT equipment within the R&D labs, including computers, servers, software, licenses, network, and peripherals ensuring all systems are operational and well maintained.
  • Implement and manage IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the R&D teams to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Manage IT projects within the lab, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot, and resolve any Lab issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an inventory of the lab equipment and software and manage the procurement of new resources as needed.
  • Document IT procedures and processes to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage a small team of Automation QA Engineers

Experience or knowledge required:

  • 6+ years of proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of IT hardware and software issues.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, CCNA is a plus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and customer-service-oriented with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Proven experience with Virtualization technologies VMware and Nutanix
  • Windows, Mac, and Linux sysadmin knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Experience in an R&D environment is a plus.
