Liquidity Risk Analyst
The Liquidity Risk Analyst is responsible for assessing and monitoring the risks associated with liquidity risks within the organization. This role involves performing effective challenge on liquidity risk, monitoring liquidity metrics, reviewing liquidity risk related materials, building SLOD challenge tools and working closely with Treasury and Risk team.
The Liquidity Risk Analyst will analyze, monitor, and report on the organization's liquidity risk exposures. This role is critical to ensuring that the Bank has sufficient cash flow and liquid assets to meet its short-term obligations and regulatory requirements. The Liquidity Risk Analyst will work closely with Treasury, Risk Management, and Regulatory Compliance teams to develop and implement strategies for effective liquidity management.
Position Responsibilities:
Risk Analysis and Monitoring



  • Review liquidity risk related materials provided by Corporate Treasury; including but not limited to ALCO materials, Weekly markets meetings, modeling and stress testing assumptions and results, ad hoc analyses, KRIs, and Liquidity Stress Test (LST).
  • Conduct monthly liquidity assessments to measure the firm's liquidity position and identify potential risks.
  • Monitor key liquidity metrics to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Regularly assess the Bank's access to funding alternatives in real-time.


Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis


  • Provide effective challenge of LST model assumptions, design, and results.
  • Develop and manage SLOD risk indicators to track the Bank's liquidity position and overall health of the Bank's funding composition and mechanisms.
  • Build and manage independent liquidity risk benchmark and challenge tools to effectively challenge liquidity risk stress testing assumptions, decisions, results, and reporting.
  • Design alternative LST scenarios to fully test the Bank's liquidity position under stress.
  • Work closely with Corporate Treasury to ensure the design, inputs, and results are fit for purpose (LST) and properly represent the business needs.


Data and Reporting


  • Review and aggregate liquidity risk related data, both internally and externally, to incorporate into challenge tools and peer analyses.
  • Provide support to the annual review of liquidity risk under the framework of regulatory supervision letter SR 10-6 as guidance.
  • Prepare and support quarterly liquidity risk report.


Collaboration with Key Stakeholders


  • Attend tactical ALCO and the Weekly Markets meeting providing effective challenge and subject matter expertise where appropriate.
  • Ensure that the liquidity risk management framework is aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the ongoing review and enhancement of liquidity risk measurement and monitoring processes.
  • Support the identification and assessment of liquidity risk emerging and existing risks.


Market Research and Strategy Support


  • Conduct research on macroeconomic factors, yield curves, and other financial data to inform risk strategies.
  • Assess LCR and applicability to the Bank.
  • Regularly conduct a review of the securities portfolio to be consistent with the Bank's liquidity needs.
  • Support the Bank's efforts and readiness surrounding Category IV planning.
  • Research optimal funding structure and mechanisms to enhance liquidity position.
  • As needed conduct ad hoc market risk analyses.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Finance, Financial Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's Degree from an accredited university in Finance, Financial Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred but not required
  • 2 years of experience in liquidity risk, treasury, market risk, or a related function
  • 2 years of experience working with Finance related terminology, liquidity risk concepts, financial regulations (e.g., Basel III, SR 10 - 6), and financial instruments
  • 2 years of experience working proficiently with risk management tools and software, and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python, R)
  • 2 years of experience working with financial and/or statistical modeling and stress testing


Licenses & Certifications:


  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) preferred

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
