Are you a skilled and experienced FP&A Analyst ready to take on a new challenge? Can you bring your expertise to support R&D and Product Management with financial planning and analysis? The Construction Management Solutions (CMS) business unit is looking for a talented professional to join our team!

What You Will Do

Join the growing Construction Management Solutions (CMS) business unit as an FP&A Analyst, where you'll drive financial accountability, forecasting, and strategic decision-making within R&D and Product Management. This role offers the opportunity to analyze R&D investments, collaborate with engineering and product teams, and provide actionable insights to ensure efficient resource allocation. CMS is one of Trimble's fastest-growing business units, offering software and services to the construction industry globally, with strong recurring revenue and exciting growth prospects. As part of a dynamic, diverse finance team, you'll be a trusted advisor to operational leaders and the Sr. Director of FP&A, helping align financial strategies with business priorities. You'll also gain valuable experience working with high-performing financial analysts, applying best practices, and building leadership skills.   • Lead budgeting and forecasting for R&D and Product Management, aligning with company financial goals.

  • Develop and maintain financial models for budgets, headcount, and project costs to inform forecasts.

  • Partner with functional leaders to track actuals vs. budgets & forecasts for investments and expenses.

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports.

  • Analyze key metrics such as investment spend, resource allocation, and project ROI.

  • Collaborate with functional leads on resource allocation and capital review for Product P&L analysis.

  • Track vendor spend to ensure alignment with contractual obligations.

  • Provide scenario analysis for business cases, balancing new development, enhancements, and maintenance.

  • Align R&D investments with product roadmap and market opportunities.

  • Evaluate financial impact of outsourcing vs. in-house development and resource allocation.

  • Use financial tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights) for accurate forecasting and reporting.

  • Work with Finance BI to define dashboard requirements and communicate R&D metrics to leadership.

  • Support strategic projects and initiatives.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • BS/BA in finance, accounting or Economics

  • 3-7 years of experience in FP&A, with a focus on R&D, product development, or innovation-focused business models.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g.,Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) and FP&A tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan).

  • Advanced Excel/GoogleSheet skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey insights to leadership.

  • Intermediate knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles

  • Strong understanding of SaaS or technology development processes, including Agile methodologies are a plus.
