Position Summary



  • Manages project teams by clearly communicating expectations for project requirements, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Works closely with Project Controls team and Project Manager to develop, update, and ensure accurate monthly Estimate to Complete (ETC) Reports.
  • Evaluates specifications for plan procedures, start and completion dates, and staffing requirements for the projects.
  • Responsible for oversight and management of Project Management teams in the following fields.

    • Schedule
    • Budget Creation
    • Overall Project Financials (Project Costs, Subcontractor Pay Applications, and Owner Pay Applications)
    • Subcontractor Management
    • Owner/Client Relations
    • Notification to Senior Management of project status and/or project related issues.


  • Development, Review, Issuance, and Execution of Subcontracts and Purchase Orders of subcontractors and suppliers prior to submission to Procurement
  • Attend Weekly Coordination Meetings with Government to discuss project(s) status and/or issues.
  • Mentor/Assist in the development of Project Management Staff
  • Assist in Proposal Review, Generation, and Development with Dawson Senior Construction Management team for new Construction Contracts.
  • This position is to be based out of the Huntsville, AL DAWSON Office, but will require some periodic travel to visit clients, projects, and expand the CONS East footprint into new markets.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Applicant must be able to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Minimum of 10 Years experience in managing Government construction contracts and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate construction project teams with projects of moderate to advanced scope and complexity.
  • Promotes an environment where team members establish relationships and build trust with their stakeholder counterparts.
  • Proven track record of creating a teamwork oriented positive environment where team members actively create high quality connections among each other.
  • Must have Proven Track record of Management of Design Build Projects
  • Can anticipate the potential for changing conditions and collaborates as needed.
  • Read and interpret Government Contracts, Solicitations, and other requirements.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Able to meet time sensitive deadlines and carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Able to analyze data and resolve issues.
  • Must have Experience and Understanding with the CPM Scheduling Method utilizing Primavera P6
  • Must be Experienced/Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)


*Position will require travel approximately 10-15% of the time to meetings as necessary*

*Applicant if not located in the Huntsville, AL area, must be willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL. DAWSON will assist with relocation if necessary.

The following certifications are required:



  • Quality Control Management (QCM) Course (USACE or Navy)
  • USACE EM385-1-1 40 Hour
  • OSHA 30
  • 1st Aid and CPR Certification
