About the Role

HARMAN's diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practices. As a member of our team, your primary role will be to support HALOsonic Product Development which focuses on applications of sound synthesis and active noise control.

What You Will Do

  • Perform acoustic and/or vibration measurements as well as post-process the data

  • Assist in software tool development by programming in MATLAB and/or C++

  • Implement prototype concepts for HALOsonic noise management features

What You Need

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program

  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA

  • Must have taken courses in, or closely related to, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering such as Controls, Signal Processing, Acoustics, and Mechanical Vibrations

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders

  • Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Working knowledge of coursework in signal processing

  • Interest in the audio or automotive industry

  • Experience with scripting languages such as MATLAB and python

  • Experience with professional audio tools, recording equipment, and VST3 plug-ins

  • Experience with C++ and version control systems

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan.

  • Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization.

  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

  • Must provide full work availability from May 19, 2025 through August 8, 2025 and be able to work 40 hours per week

Pay Transparency

Freshman: $21.00
Sophomore: $23.00
Junior: $25.00
Senior: $27.00
Master: $32.00
Doct: $38.00

Dependent on the internship offered, pay is based on factors, including without limitation, the applicant's level of education and business need.
