The Laboratory Manager plans, directs, and supervises all administrative, technical, and fiscal aspects of the department, including personnel management and the development of laboratory testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of the laboratory function and results.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for performance management for supervisory, technical, and support staff, including annual performance appraisals, hiring and terminations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures department operational efficiencies through appropriate staffing and fiscal accountability.
  • Develops laboratory guidelines and procedure manuals to ensure effective instrument and equipment use and testing quality control. Ensures standard operational procedures are correct and up-to-date.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience required. Master's degree in related field preferred.
  • 7+ years experience in Medical Technology, with at least 1-3 years of supervisory and/or lead experience.
  • ASCP or equivalent
