JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Materials Research Institute (MRI) is accepting applications for a Digital Marketing Specialist.The Materials Research Institute (MRI) is Penn State's catalyst for multidisciplinary education, research, and innovation in materials. The MRI has three open-access core research facilities that enable materials synthesis, nanofabrication, and characterization. MRI supports faculty across the university by marketing our successes and seeding new opportunities. Join our creative marketing and communications team, which consists of a Marketing Director, Technical Writer and Editor, Graphic Designer, and Multimedia Specialist who create and support a broad spectrum of marketing activities across various platforms. Our team's goal is to provide quality, high-end stories and visuals that ultimately support MRI's mission, vision, and strategic plan. MRI is looking for a dynamic individual who will support our marketing team's collective efforts while also bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the table. This role involves collaborating with team members to execute a variety of marketing strategies, including writing internal and external communications, optimizing website user experiences, and increasing social media presence and audience base. The applicant must have strong communication skills, experience using Drupal web platform (front and back end), Microsoft Sharepoint intranet platforms, experience with video editing, knowledge of social media platforms and their user types, experience with Nextcloud media servers and services, and prior involvement in event planning and event engagement. The ideal candidate will actively participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute to the development of creative content, and help enhance our overall marketing initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally while making a significant impact on our marketing efforts, which ultimately expands the visibility of MRI's online digital presence.
