Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Management Team, the Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for the overall analysis and enhancement of supply chain processes within the Materiel Services Department. The Supply Chain Analyst will use various quantitative methods and tap into all available techniques and resources to collect relevant data - including distribution data and procurement metrics, as well as information on productivity and customer demand - in order to prompt improvement in the performance and effectiveness of the department's daily operations. The Supply Chain Analyst must have excellent organizational skills and must be able to effectively prioritize and execute critical job functions with minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy. Strong initiative, creativity and a knack for solving complex problems, and an ability to manage multiple ongoing and deadline-driven projects are essential.

The Supply Chain Analyst will also work on a variety of ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned, including inventory reductions, product recalls, product implementations, and other supply chain centric tasks and assignments.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $87,700 - $132,500 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain (Logistics) or equivalent related experience and training.
  • 3 or more years of experience in Supply Chain Operation or Logistics
  • Thorough knowledge of materials management policies, regulatory requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of equipment and supplies managed and ability to install, assess, and monitor
  • Strong communication skills; including active listening and critical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with staff across departments and of all levels including Nurses and Surgeons
  • Productive in work volume, speed, quality, and consistency. Ability to manage multiple priorities, track all supplies, and complete projects.
  • Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in the Microsoft Suite.
  • Effectively uses the organization's automated materials management systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of data management and documentation methods used in materials management.
