About the Role The IT Director is a key leader responsible for driving and managing the company's information technology infrastructure.
This role demands a highly technical and proactive individual with an in-depth understanding of networking, Windows Server environments, and cybersecurity best practices, particularly NIST 800-171 compliance.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and an effective collaborative leader, capable of confidently articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You'll Do in Your New Role Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Collaboratively develop and implement the company's IT strategy to ensure alignment with overarching business goals.
- Oversee the allocation of the IT budget and resources with careful consideration and prudence.
- Inspire and guide the IT team through mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Cultivate an environment that encourages innovation and fosters continuous improvement within the IT department.
Technical Expertise and Support:
- Provide direct support for the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, SSOs, to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage and maintain Linux and Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group and Conditional Access policies, as well as virtualization technologies.
- Safeguard the security and integrity of all company data and systems while ensuring compliance with NIST 800-171/CMMC Level 2 standards.
- Proactively implement, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Address and resolve complex technical issues with a focus on effective solutions.
- Remain informed about emerging technologies and best practices within the industry.
Cybersecurity:
- Implement and uphold comprehensive security measures, including antivirus solutions, intrusion detection and prevention systems, as well as data loss prevention strategies.
- Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents with due diligence.
- Equip employees with knowledge and awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
Vendor Management:
- Engage in negotiations and manage contracts with IT vendors and service providers to secure favorable terms.
- Foster and maintain strong partnerships with technology providers to enhance collaborative efforts.
Project Management:
- Strategically plan and deliver IT projects within established timelines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure the successful implementation of projects and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
