The Job
The Facility Manager reports to the Vice President of Track Management and Operations and works alongside the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (LOIRP) Management and Operations staff. The Facility Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park facility. This includes, but is not limited to, property landscaping, building maintenance, and asset management and maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Hire, schedule, and supervise seasonal and event employees, focused on facility events and maintenance operations.
  • Makes recommendations for developing, budgeting, and implementing physical improvements/repairs, capital purchases, track rentals, racing, and promotional programs.
  • Implement and execute maintenance schedules for the facility and equipment.
  • Supervises and coordinates all activity relating to event preparation and clean-up.
  • Ensures the ambitious standards of worker safety are developed, met, and maintained at the facility.
  • Always ensures the maintenance of a manicured facility.
  • Responsible for securing the property
  • Ensures that Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park continues to maintain a positive image in the racing community.
  • Greet and assist all guests at the track, giving great service and going the extra mile every time.
  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and consistency in all work
  • Responsible for helping oversee all facility preparation responsibilities from organizing, executing, and maintaining.
  • May attend and participate in other NHRA event preparation and learnings.
Minimum Skills/Experience/Education Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-high school education (college, technical school, vocational training) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience managing facility operations and staffing.
  • 2+ years of supervising staff.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Must have prior experience working with department budgets.
  • Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Must maintain a high quality in all work including accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively with vendors and all levels of management both in writing and verbally.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at a computer as needed.
  • Ability to talk on the phone as needed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, run, climb stairs as required.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors sometimes in extreme temperatures for 12-14 hours as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under NHRA insurance policy.
  • Must be flexible with meal and rest periods.
