Remote Senior Cloud Engineer

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will collaborate with clients to design, implement, maintain, and test various technical solutions using the latest technologies. Responsible for managing existing IaC repos and cloud resources spread across three separate environments

• Managing existing terraform infrastructure across three separate environments.

• Assist with troubleshooting issues related to resources deployed with network isolation.

• Manage pipelines and cron jobs for IaC deployments into various environments.

• Working autonomously to identify areas in our infrastructure that could be improved via secure defaults

• Assisting with cost management and monitoring of resources.

• Assist client teams with understanding the infrastructure setup and how to contribute.

• Configure monitoring for infrastructure using Elastic Stack, Application Insights, and Azure Monitor

• Document infrastructure processes, procedures, and environments to ensure continuity.

This opportunity is remote and will require occasional on-site support during project deployments.

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements

Must be able to obtain and/or maintain Secret Clearance. If you do not have a Secret Clearance, any offer is contingent on receiving an Interim Secret clearance within the average government timeline. Current federal averages are approximately 17 days.

Required For This Opportunity

• U.S. Citizenship required

• Minimum of five years of cloud/infrastructure engineering experience

• Candidate must have a CompTIA Security+

• As a condition of employment, the candidate must acquire an AZ-104 or AZ-305 Certificate within 60 days of being hired or will be at-risk for termination.

• Strong proficiency in Bash, Powershell, Python, or similar languages

• Experience automating infrastructure and application deployments using pipelines (Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Github, etc.)

• Strong proficiency with using Terraform to manage cloud environments.

• Strong experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP)

• Strong understanding of cloud networking such as application gateways, private endpoints, DNS, and virtual networks.

• Experience with configuring monitoring tools (e.g., Application Insights, Elastic, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)

**Failure to meet any of the listed requirements within 60 days of hire may result in removal from the program and termination from AIS.**

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience working with the DoD and familiarity with the ATO process

• AZ-104 or 305 certifications

• Experience in Windows or Linux Server Administration (with RedHat, CentOS, or similar)

• Experience with application deployment onto PaaS services

• Experience with training others on technical tasks

• Experience with cloud hardware services such as Azure Stack Edge or AWS Snowball

• Experience with setting up custom role or policy assignments in Azure or AWS

• Experience with FinOps and using tagging to manage resource cost
