We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to join our team! The ideal schedule will be Monday-Friday 7:30 am- 4:00 pm. Since Urgent Care is a 7-day-per-week operation that delivers care days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, we request staff to be flexible with scheduling needs and take on weekend/holiday coverage as needed. As a small but strong team of 1-2 providers and 2-3 support staff, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of a collaborative team.
We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other locations for training/precepting purposes or during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances (for cross-coverage purposes). The other locations are, Northampton, Amherst, or Greenfield. Responsibilities: *Direct patient care duties *Obtain vital signs and blood specimens *Assist providers in performing invasive and non-invasive procedures *Perform point-of-care testing on patients Indirect patient care duties *Check-in and register patients *Process referrals *Order and stock clinical supplies and patient education materials *Transport patients and specimens as needed *Monitor the environment of care *Perform administrative tasks as needed This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital Required
