RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining the light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a PET Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will operate equipment (Gamma cameras) to create images of areas of a patient's body. Prepare radioactive drugs and administer them to the patient, usually through an intravenous line. The radioactive materials cause abnormal areas of the body to appear differently from normal areas in the acquired images. Prepare the exam for analysis through post processing and image enhancement. Ensure safety of both patient and staff by strictly adhering to all state and federal guidelines.

This position is a part time position, working 30-39 hours a week 7:00am - 5:00pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



  • Capable of performing high quality diagnostic studies according to RAYUS protocols.
  • Capable of explaining test being performed to patient as well as answering questions.
  • Technologist must be proficient in performing all Nuclear and PET studies which includes but is not limited to the administration of all radio pharmaceuticals (isotopes) in the proper dosage, then be able to monitor the characteristics and functionality of tissues & organs which they localize or have an apparent "uptake".
  • Aid the interpreting physician with the most accurate diagnosis in identifying any underlying pathology and or abnormalities.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of the Syntrac system for the purposes of ordering the proper isotope for the exam scheduled.
  • Must have an understanding and maintain good practice in the proper disposal of all sharps, biohazardous waste, as well as the proper handling of radioactive materials.
  • Must be able to understand and correlate the accuracy of prescriptions and their appropriate clinical indications, as well as what to do when they do not match.
  • Independent operation and adjustment of both Nuclear cameras and PET / CT equipment producing high quality diagnostic images.
  • Be able to maintain a busy schedule scanning large volume (scheduled and add on patients) and being capable of multi-tasking.
  • Run daily and weekly quality control to maintain equipment accuracy and functionality.
  • Provide detailed patient medical history.
  • Work with co- workers in a professional manner as a team.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of RAYUS' RIS, PACS, Intergy computer systems as well as daily workflow.
  • Participate in the maintenance of ACR accreditation when needed.
  • Report all equipment malfunctions.
  • Keep room both clean and stocked with essential supplies.


Required:



  • NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing
  • 2+ years imaging experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform advanced PET/CT procedures independently and with the highest quality
  • Certification in imaging specialty


Preferred:



  • Bilingual
  • Works in multiple modalities and/or has multi-modality certifications
  • ARRT certification in CT
  • NMTCB PET Specialty certification
