JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: We are hiring an experienced part-time research assistant to join the team on Resilience and Equity in Addressing Climate Health (REACH). Reach is a statewide program to prepare health and social services systems to address the health impacts of extreme heat, flooding, and worsening air quality among vulnerable populations. The primary responsibility of the research assistant requires travel with the Penn State Lion Mobile Clinic to conduct in-person informal interviews regarding the health impacts of climate change. Since 2022, the Lion Mobile Clinic has attended several events across central Pennsylvania including Snow Shoe, Phillipsburg, State College, Bellefonte, Howard and Centre Hall. While initial training, team meetings, and project-related tasks are primarily virtual, all interviews and data collection efforts are in person. When not in the field, the researcher will engage in other research activities, including literature reviews, problem solving, and assisting with the development of outreach materials.
