Job Overview

Hubbell Armorcast is on the search for a candidate our Fiberglass Cutting Department. The Fiberglass Cutter will work in cutting department with woven fiberglass of various density weights and sizes using an automated NC Computerized Cutting machine or manual methods (i.e., Stanley Knife and cutting shears) to produce various shapes and sizes used in all manufacturing areas. Pay begins at $20.50 per hour. As a newly hired employee with Hubbell, you will be eligible to receive $1000.00 retention sign on bonus after the 90th day worked with Hubbell. Benefits begin 1st of the month following hire date.

A Day In The Life

  • Follow production schedules as directed.
  • Will be working in the cutting area, and cutting fiberglass for the entire shift
  • Follow Company safety and break policies, work in a safe manner, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately stop any unsafe activity and report to Supervisor
  • Ensure production processes are carried out in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to use computer and other computer programs to input daily numbers, view drawings, etc.
  • Ability to learn and grasp the material types and cutting techniques.
  • Ask questions when unsure of work and quantity requirements.
  • Keep area clean, follow good housekeeping practices.

Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds work in a fast paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during work shift, and clearly communicate issues.


Equivalent Education/Experience:



  • Heavy manufacturing and construction experience preferred
  • High school diploma preferred but not required.


Required Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Ability:



  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work in a group environment, and ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to use computer and computer programs throughout the day
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
