JOB TITLE: DONATION ATTENDANT

PAY RATE: $17.28

DEPARTMENT: RETAIL

STATUS: FULL-TIME

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: STORE MANAGER

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:



  1. Maintain and clean up the area in and around the donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
  2. Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy.
  3. Courteously assist the donor in the removal of all donated items from the donor's vehicle and provide receipt.
  4. Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor.
  5. Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by Supervisor.
  6. Assist TSA drivers/PAs with loading donations on to trucks as necessary.
  7. Inform Supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
  8. At the end of each shift, the Donation Attendant must secure and lock the area
  9. Maintain good working relations with property or store managers.
  10. Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, by Supervisor.


Work Environment:

The position is located outdoors but can be indoors as well. The environment includes noisy background, exposure to outdoor elements including air dust, debris, dirt, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School graduate or equivalent ( Candidates must provide a copy of their high school diploma or equivalent)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and donors
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to provide good customer service to donors. Previous customer service experience preferred



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, stoop, crouch, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to lift, carry, reach, push and pull
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25-50lbs with or without assistance.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
