EMBRACE is a clinical program developed to give Black birthing families an opportunity to receive integrative/collaborative perinatal care from an intentional angle of racial consciousness. EMBRACE is focused on closing the gap for Black maternal and Black infant birthing disparities and reducing inequitable care for a birthing population at risk.
The purpose of this Project Policy Analyst 2 position is to support project management and program coordination for the continuing implementation of EMBRACE: Perinatal Care for Black Families. Project management and program coordination duties will be spread across 3 UCSF sites with over 12 clinicians and staff. Additionally, this position will provide administrative support to the program's Co-Director leading behavioral health services and initiatives. This position seeks candidates from backgrounds that represent the targeted population being served by EMBRACE; who have perinatal, behavioral and/or public health expertise and demonstrated commitment to fostering anti-racist practice, racial justice, and equity. This position will help program leadership accomplish the following goals:
1. Implementation of outlined program goals and deliverables for the SF-DPH Black Maternal Mental Health, Tipping Point - Early Childhood, and Irving Harris Foundation funding sources.
2. Implementation of a Black Perinatal Community Network to support interdisciplinary, cross-sector care of Black Birthing Families in the San Francisco, Bay Area.
This position will (1) manage multiple timelines and projects that target grant deliverables; (2) manage EMBRACE outreach communications including, email inbox, webpage and social media platforms; (3) support program operations that include planning and logistics for various stakeholder and community partnership meetings and/or events; and (4) will provide any administrative support needs to leadership including setup for contractor payments and project summary reports. The Project Policy Analyst must be able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, independently analyze issues, work with minimal supervision, and be exceedingly well-organized and flexible. Diplomacy and tact are essential, together with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
THIS IS A 4-YEAR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXTENSION. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $55,700 - $90,000 (Annual Rate). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Administration, Non-Profits, Public Health, Social Work, Public Policy, Psychology or other related area and three years + experience or equivalent experience/training.
- Six (6) months or more experience working with Black community organizations and individual Black community leaders or equivalent trainings related to specific population.
- Experience with capacity building and technical assistance
- Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
- Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality .

- Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
- Independent and highly motivated

- Ability to interact and communicate with diverse stakeholders in both community settings and an academic institution
- Proficiency in using project management software (e.g. Monday.com, Microsoft Project) and other technology tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
