DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The intern will play a supportive role in delivering engineering services and expert advice to personnel involved in regional park and forestry initiatives, particularly concerning the planning and execution of maintenance construction projects. This opportunity will enable the intern to acquire hands-on experience across a range of engineering endeavors. Responsibilities associated with this role encompass the application of engineering principles and techniques acquired through academic studies to organized project tasks; performing field surveys, assessments, and inspections; collecting relevant field data; and aiding in the preparation or evaluation of designs for new constructions or the refurbishment of existing facilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Compensation is credit based:
    • Less than 90 credits - $20.76
    • Over 90 credits - $21.64

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Internship Requirements:

    • Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:
      • Civil Engineering
      • Mechanical Engineering
  • An approved major course of at an accredited college or university.
  • Freshman year completed
  • Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
  • Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
  • Additional Requirements:

    • You must possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension
    • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
