About the Opportunity The Division Manager provides administrative and project support to the Chief Development Officer and the Development division overall so that the team achieves departmental objectives on time and within budget. This position will report to the Chief Development Officer and assist others within the division to achieve strategic goals by independently and collaboratively managing the daily administrative and some of the financial operations of the department. The Division Manager is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks supporting the Chief Development Officer's activities and the directors of the Development division. The Division Manager should have solid writing skills, experience in planning and staffing events, and a basic understanding of budgets. Graphic design skills for assistance on donor materials are a plus. The Division Manager will assist with travel planning, calendar scheduling, managing division supply requisitions. The administrative work within the division may pertain to grants activities, donor events, tracking division travel and liaising with PBS-NC's Executive Administrator for quarterly Trustee and Foundation board meetings. The position provides foundation board support with scheduling meetings and drafting minutes. This role supports the financial operations of the department by tracking contract dates, processing travel reimbursements and invoices, and in support of the Director of Development Operations, analyzing budget reports and ensuring the accuracy of financials. The successful individual will have a pleasant and professional interpersonal demeanor needed for interacting with a diverse group of internal and external clients, as well as good professional written and oral communication, editing, and proofreading skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure while meeting deadlines, is ethical, and trustworthy. Strong prioritization and organization skills are necessary for multitasking, as well as for coordinating projects and activities. Word processing, excel, and database skills are also essential to this position. Experience or interest in public media is a plus. This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least 3 days per week at the Bryan Center in Research Triangle Park, NC. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station. Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Required Competencies Professional Knowledge: Knowledge of program policies, procedures, technology, best practices and their theoretical bases. Ability to interpret and apply a variety of interrelated policies, procedures, and programs for clients and to address clients' non-routine issues.
Program/Project Administration: Ability to administer and/or manage a program with established guidelines and standards in its entirety or to administer several components of a multi-faceted program.
Consultation: Ability to advise and collaborate with clients, program participants, and others to resolve difficult issues in assigned program area(s).
Information Analysis and Decision-Making: Ability to analyze business operations and/or financial statements for overall program administration. Ability to develop initiatives to meet program/project needs and objectives.
Communication and Marketing: Ability to maintain and enhance professional relationships to increase credibility for building support and reaching consensus when explaining and interpreting program policies and procedures within assigned area(s).
Leadership: Ability to provide consultation on issues and requests from clients. Ability to consult with higher-level professionals to discuss alternative solutions.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills Prefer individual who has used Excel, Word, PowerPoint and has experience making presentations in PowerPoint or Canva. Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred. Familiarity with the UNC system, public media, purpose and mission driven work is a plus. Familiarity with the Tessitura and Raiser's Edge NXT CRM is a plus but not essential.
