Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, to lead a team in development and implementation of technical accounting policies, provide guidance on complex transactions, and support key financial initiatives. This leadership role is critical in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, driving policy improvements, and partnering with internal stakeholders on financial reporting matters.

How You'll Make an Impact

Technical Accounting & Research



  • Serve as the subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP, providing guidance on mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, leases, debt, revenue recognition, and stock-based compensation.


  • Research and interpret accounting standards, drafting comprehensive memos on complex transactions.


  • Ensure the resolution of complex accounting matters in collaboration with senior management.


Revenue Accounting Oversight



  • Evaluate material revenue contracts and modifications to ensure compliance with ASC 606.


  • Perform and review monthly revenue-related close activities, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.


  • Drive accurate revenue recognition and support financial audits and SEC reporting.


Policy Development & Compliance



  • Analyze and implement new or updated accounting standards, assessing their impact on the company.


  • Develop and maintain accounting policies to align with evolving standards and industry best practices.


Audit & Financial Reporting



  • Play a key role in annual audits and quarterly reviews, working closely with external auditors.


What You Bring to the Table



  • CPA with a minimum of 8 years of experience, including a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry roles.


  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP, FASB codifications, and ASC 606.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex accounting issues.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical topics to diverse audiences.


  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal controls frameworks.
  • A self-starter who excels in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.


Compensation & Benefits



  • Comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), paid holidays, 15 days of PTO, and more.


The anticipated salary range for this position is $144,000 - $170,000 and is eligible for a sign on bonus. In addition, highly competitive long-term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package.The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
