JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Mathematics in Penn State's Eberly College of Science is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will work with Professor John Harlim in the area of Applied and Computational Mathematics. The project encompasses learning dynamical systems and/or approximating solutions of PDEs on unknown manifolds. Education and Experience: Applicants must have recently completed a Ph.D. and have exceptional research potential. Teaching may be required. This is a term position funded for one year with an excellent possibility of renewal for a second year. Qualified candidates are expected to have a background in differential geometry, numerical analysis/PDEs, and/or dynamical systems theory.
