Summary

Develops program plans, quotes program tasks, coordinates with primary subcontractors, implements tasks and presents various analyses. Maintainability, component, safety, and component failure analysis engineering disciplines are included as supplemental activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Single point of contact to Program Teams for all Reliability Elements
  • Tracks program budgets, provide work scope and budget for the assigned team members.
  • Supports proposals for new jobs and informs team members of the proposal requirements.
  • Work within a team construct in support of the assigned program.
  • Develops program plans and implements the reliability engineering program to comply with customer specifications and is the central focal point for the reliability function with other disciplines and with customers for the program(s) assigned.
  • Develops all labor quotes required on assigned contracts

Supplemental Maintainability Engineering Tasks

  • Develops program plans and implements the maintainability engineering program to comply with customer specifications.
  • Performs maintainability trade-offs that permit fault detection and fault isolation to circuits and piece part ambiguity groups.
  • Reviews engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve maintainability within cost and other performance requirements.
  • Prepares test plans, procedures and reports for demonstrations, and assists in monitoring test programs.

Supplemental Component Engineering Tasks

  • Prepares implements and maintains the company parts control program as required.
  • Participates in the parts selection application standardization, and approval cycle (when required).
  • Participates in the GIDEP process.
  • Contributes to the decision about obsolete parts and diminishing sources.
  • Participates in design reviews, with emphasis on parts and parts-technology application.
  • Monitors subcontractor's parts control activity, when required.
  • Performs liaison tasks with government agencies, such as DESC and DISC.
  • Participates in the government standardization program.
  • Reviews Alerts and recommends corrective action.
  • Coordinates common part activities with other divisions.
  • Assists in analyzing failures of parts

Supplemental Safety Engineering Tasks

  • Develops program plans and checklists.
  • Implements the safety engineering program to comply with customer specifications.
  • Performs safety engineering hazard analyses and generates safety reports.
  • Performs design reviews for safety compliance using safety design checklist.
  • Reviews engineering specifications and drawings and proposes design modifications to improve safety.
  • Prepares safety test plans and monitors tests.
  • Performs safety audits.
  • Presents safety program results at formal design reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Performs reliability predictions on a variety of units, from non-repairable systems (simplex models) to fault-tolerant repairable systems utilizing WINDCHILL Package.
  • Trains junior and intermediate level Engineers.
  • Prepare Block Diagrams at a functional level to support testability and FMEA analysis.
  • Performs trade studies.
  • Prepares failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and formulates mathematical models to identify units posing excessive failure risks and recommends proposed design changes.
  • Performs functional and signal point-to-point FMECA tasks to the subassembly level.
  • Performs circuit and part stress analysis with multiple variables.
  • Performs life-limited studies and analysis.
  • Prepares proposals.
  • Assists in failure analysis procedures.
  • Prepares data items for the customer, such as AAA reports, program plans, etc.
  • Performs BIT assessment to determine detection capabilities at box and board level and isolation capability from box to piece part level.
  • Performs design review. Participates in formal and in-house design review meetings.
  • Determines reliability testing requirements (i.e., HALT, HASS, ESS) with emphasis on planning and implementation.
  • Reviews subcontractors' proposals for reliability program and data items and submits evaluations to program management.
  • Reviews engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements.
  • Prepares test plan, procedures and reports for demonstrations, and assists in monitoring test programs.
  • Prepares presentations for management and customers.
  • Analyzes in-house and field failure data to determine trends. Recommends appropriate corrective action. Maintains a FRACAS database.
  • Supports logistics activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or physics from a four-year college or university; Master degree preferred
  • 9 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other

  • Background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret Clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills are required when working with other disciplines, customers, vendors, and other employees of Telephonics.
  • Familiarity with the PC for access to the network drafting records and purchasing system.
  • Strong working knowledge of application programs Windows, Word, Excel, and specialized Reliability programs such as RELEX software.
  • Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, meters, counters, frequency meters, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Occasional travel requiring overnight stays may be required, airline travel must be acceptable.

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$79,766 - $132,943

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
