Job Description and Duties

Attention all current and aspiring Muslim Chaplains! Are you hoping to play a major role in reintegrating men and women into society by serving all people within the institutional framework, and using pastoral counseling to convey, rather than impose, religious values? Working Conditions

This position is located at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison (SATF), in Corcoran, CA, which is accessibly located right off Highway 43 in Corcoran. Conveniently located less than 1 hour from Lemoore Naval Air Station, approximately 2 hours from Yosemite National Park and Pismo Beach and about 3 hours from LAX, in the heart of adjacent communities such as Fresno, Hanford, Tulare, and Visalia. It's an ideal location with a low cost of living.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency. Foreign education credential evaluation services can be found at NACES | National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
