State Department Federal Credit Union is looking for an Assistant Branch Sales Manager to help lead our team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in financial services, including two years in a supervisory or management role focused on leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing sales and service team. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, and a BS/BA degree in Finance or a related field is preferred.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Branch Sales Manager to oversee branch operations, ensuring the team meets financial, operational, service, and growth goals. If you're a results-driven leader with a passion for exceptional service, we'd love to hear from you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all branch functions with the Branch Sales Manager including the daily work functions of the Sr. Member Service Representatives and Tellers.
  • Coaches, trains, and assesses the training needs of Sr. Member Service Representatives and Tellers in the branch on an on-going basis to ensure quality of performance, knowledge of procedures and staff development.
  • Assists Sr. Member Service Representatives and MSR/Tellers in responding to difficult situations such as check problems and balancing issues, makes exceptions to policies when appropriate, resolves complex problems, and makes adjustments for members and Shared Branches.
  • In absence of Branch Sales Manager or on Saturdays as needed, effectively manages branch operations and performs responsibilities of Branch Sales Manager.
  • Provides written input for employee performance appraisals for the Branch Sales Manager's review and recommends revisions to job descriptions as necessary.
  • Interviews applicants for employment with Branch Sales Manager or in the Manager's absence and recommends hiring decisions.
  • Recommends corrective actions, may participate in meetings to discuss performance and prepares and/or assists Branch Sales Manager in preparing documentation and warnings.
  • Prepares and maintains branch vault including daily branch cash order, verifying incoming cash, providing supply of cash to tellers, and balancing vault.
  • Prepares daily branch cash order for all branches, weekly cash order from the Federal Reserve, and daily Money Order report for the whole Credit Union. Contacts Federal Armored Express to research and resolve SDFCU's non-receipt branch cash order.
  • Oversees balancing of Travelers Cheques, Money Orders, and Check Register logs on a daily basis.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Associates Degree desired with knowledge of credit union and/or financial institution rules, regulations, and policies
  • Supervisory experience desired
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including dealing with people in a professional manner, diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to work independently including managing priorities and working under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Good organizational skills and time management skills
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and analytical skills
  • Required to extend work shift and/or work during times that SDFCU is closed on assigned Saturdays
