Interventional Radiology Technician

2 FTEs 5-days a week shifts vary based on department needs with weekend & weekday on-call requirements.


Duties

  • Assist proceduralist during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular, neuro-interventional cases with scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralist.
  • Strong knowledge with floor and ceiling mounted fluoroscopic modality machines.
  • Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedural cases.
  • Critically think during neuro-interventional cases and complex cases to assist proceduralist.
  • Operate power injection of iodinated contrast media device during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Strong communication skills using closed loop communication.
  • Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention measures to set up procedural trays for case load.
  • Positively contribute to a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, radiologist, and vascular surgeons.
  • Knowledge of documentation in electronic medical record and send images to Sectra/PACs system.
  • Groin management post intervention.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide high quality care in a fast paced environment.
  • BLS from an approved AHS credentialed American Heart Association or a BLS accredited with skill demonstration in basic life support measures.
  • Current licensure with the certification with ARRT NJ state (defined in above JD).
  • This role is similar to a cardiovascular technologist (CVT) but MUST have radiographic licensure to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities.


Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as Interventional Radiologic technologist or a Cardio-Vascular technologist with NJ radiographic licensure.


Education

Required Education:



  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Associate degree.
  • OR Completion of accredited radiographic program.


Preferred Education:



  • N/A


Required Certifications & Licensure

  • NJ radiographic licensure.
  • BLS from an approved AHS credentialed American Heart Association or a BLS accredited with skill demonstration in basic life support measures.
  • Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT.
