Tournament Office Intern

The Tournament Office Intern will assist all staff and interns with various projects throughout the summer. During the lead-up to the tournament (end of May through mid-July), this intern will assist different departments as needed. This includes tickets, hospitality & partner services, volunteers, sales, and operations. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to work well in a high-pressure environment, must display strong organizational skills, must show a high level of oral and written communication. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide direction, support, and information to volunteers, corporate guests, and anyone else that comes into the office during Advance Week + Tournament Week
  • Answer phone calls to the tournament office during Advance Week + Tournament Week for most of the day
  • Work collaboratively with different 3M Open departments such as Sponsor Relations, Sales, Marketing, and Volunteers on other projects as assigned
    • Example: responsible for sending out tickets to all qualifying residents that live on the TPC Twin Cities golf course
  • Responsible for helping with Partner Services and Hospitality projects as needed
    • Example: creating a spreadsheet that keeps track of our corporate gifting for our Brand Partnerships & Experiences Director
  • Responsible for helping with the physical set-up and tear down of various events (Moving tables, setting up displays/signage, and moving sponsor products)
  • Assist with logistics planning as well as shipping/receiving packages throughout the summer
  • Assist with daily tournament activities as assigned
  • Assist with 3M Open's Partner Program's sponsorship fulfillment
QUALIFIED APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
  • A desire to gain experience in a professional sports and entertainment environment
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point
  • Applicants must currently reside near the Twin Cities or be willing to commute.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • Full availability during tournament week in July
*Please note internships are unpaid.
*Internships will run from May 28th - August 1st.
