USC Communications is seeking a Senior Email Developer to join its team. The Communications team sets the strategic communications vision and marketing strategies that promote the campus community's innovative accomplishments, builds a strong brand identity and nurtures the University's reputation among its vast constituencies.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Strategy, the Senior Email Developer will design, develop and deliver a variety of responsive and mobile-first HTML emails supporting University Advancement and USC Alumni Association engagement and outreach.

The ideal candidate is an experienced email development expert with strong front-end and back-end skills. They will have expertise in designing and developing responsive, mobile-first HTML emails that support the engagement and outreach efforts. This person should have a strong technical understanding of email segmentation, A/B testing and performance tracking.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Optimizes email performance through tracking, assessment and partnership with team content and creative managers. Leads email segmentation, testing and reporting.

  • Maintains day-to-day email production and editorial calendars and provides weekly, monthly and ad hoc email reporting.

  • Develops responsive, mobile-first and brand-compliant HTML emails to support engagement and outreach efforts originating from University Advancement and the USC Alumni Association.

  • Manages segmentation, A/B testing, tracking, assessment and reporting for advancement and USC Alumni Association email campaigns and deliveries.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

This is a hybrid position under our current work arrangement plan, with the expectation of on-site presence in our offices in the USC Tower located adjacent to campus in downtown Los Angeles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Combined 4 years of experience as substitute for minimum education.

  • Understanding and strong technical knowledge of and experience with object-oriented design, web servers, web applications and programming languages, web content management systems, search engine optimization, and usability engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience.

  • Experience with front-end and back-end website design.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $102,576.72 - $134,044.39. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
