S&ME is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AMPP (formerly NACE) Level I or Level II Coating Inspector to join our Construction Services team in Greensboro, North Carolina. Your Day-to-Day:



  • Visit Job Sites: Travel to various project locations to observe, document, and assess contractors' surface preparation and coating applications.
  • Monitor Quality Standards: Verify that surface preparation and coating applications on materials like steel, concrete, and cast iron comply with project specifications.
  • Operate Vehicles Safely: Travel between assignments, accessing confined spaces such as underground pipes and elevated structures, including water towers.
  • Perform Physical Tasks: Climb ladders and scaffolding, handle field equipment, and carry up to 50 lbs. while conducting tests and observations.
  • Ensure Safety: Utilize safety equipment like full-body harnesses for working at heights and mask respirators during blasting and coating operations.



What You Bring:



  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial coating application and surface preparation.
  • AMPP (formerly NACE) Level I or Level II CIP Certification is essential.
  • Strong Communication Skills in English, both verbal and written.



Are You Ready to:



  • Work outdoors in all types of weather, including outside of normal business hours when needed?
  • Navigate uneven terrain and maneuver equipment safely on active job sites?
  • Work in confined spaces, climb to heights up to 200 ft, and use ladders or scaffolding?
  • Routinely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and travel extensively, including overnight assignments?
