Job Title: Leaf Processing Controller

Leaf Processing Controller

Position:

This is an outstanding opportunity for a diligent and meticulous professional to join JTI Leaf Services(US) LLC as a Leaf Processing Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for critical metrics related to Leaf Processing, ensuring flawless achievement of all objectives and targets. You will manage data tracking, measure important metrics, and provide proven recommendations to the team on areas for improvement.



  • **Inventory Traceability**: Lead the traceability efforts for all leaf inventory, including packed leaf inventory. Ensure accurate and timely inventory reporting and complete necessary reconciliations within the system.
  • **Blend Reconciliations**: Coordinate blend reconciliations from internal to packed grades.
  • **Processing Work Order**: Plan and manage processing work orders, including MOPI management and instructions.
  • **Power User**: Act as the primary expert for Leaf Point and other systems.
  • **Continuous Improvement**: Lead continuous improvement projects within the processing function, including oversight of 5S3R and ongoing improvement of local processes and procedures.
  • **Compliance**: Ensure full compliance with JTI Global Leaf Policy and all company procedures.


Responsibilities:

Inventory Reporting & Reconciliation:



  • Supervise and control inventory processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of JTI inventory and production information in strict compliance with JTI Global Leaf policies and procedures.
  • Provide weekly inventory reconciliations during processing season for leaf materials, including analysis and descriptions of yields by grade.


Production Management:

  • Process inventory movements on the Shop Floor and in warehousing locations to ensure complete transparency and accountability of packed products. This includes balancing disposition of rejected cases, remnants, out of tolerance cases, zero tare cases, etc.
  • Preparation of Blends for Packed Grades.
  • Planning of Production runs for processing season, applying FIFO and Production Profiles.


Controlling & Facilitating Operations:

  • Where applicable, ensure adherence to JTI's Operating Guidelines.
  • Complete capital budgeting projects and determine the best way to manage our costs and grow the operation.
  • Management of Labor/Headcount on shop floor to budget.
  • Complete capital expenditure BAP/MEMO/ITR's preparation working with the local management team to complete all necessary requirements.
  • Review Profit & Loss statement to ensure accurate monitoring of costs throughout the facility. Strive to analyze spend and implement cost improvement mechanisms to reduce JTILS' cost basis and drive down the cost per kilogram.
  • Ongoing improvement of the integration of local processing systems and procedures.


Internal Controls:

  • Provide continuous support for timely and accurate execution of Internal Controls & SOX related controls within processes as well as overall local business processes.
  • Ensure yearly inventory audits are set up and carried out per JTI's global policies and procedures.
  • Process Control coordinator as per IWS guidelines, ensuring transparency of data and information sharing.


Performance Metrics:

  • Establish critical metrics to supervise the progress of the business as it continues to evolve.
  • Track the critical metrics on the appropriate schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Analyze and datamine business results and metrics.
  • Apply data acquired to provide recommendations to the Operational team and the Executive management team, in order to facilitate continuous improvement within the organization.


Additionally:

  • Perform any other tasks given by the direct manager.
  • Work seamlessly and closely with all functions within and outside of local departments.
  • Perform Power User tasks such as participating in required testing, i.e., regression and user acceptance tests, submit change requests as needed.
  • Champion 5S3R throughout the facility.
  • Lead the Facility in the implementation and sustaining of 5S3R practices and projects.
  • Conduct by department audits with the 5S3R team.
  • Provide feedback to Global HQ and Local Senior Management on findings, observations, and recommendations.


Requirements:

  • Higher education (economics, finance, management), MBA or Finance qualification is a plus.


- Solid experience in supply chain or finance in a multinational company - Tobacco industry knowledge is desirable.



  • Proficiency in English, with excellent written and oral skills.
  • Excellent digital literacy with shown proficiency in MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). SAP and Business Warehouse experience would be preferred.
