PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Application Services, the Systems Integration Specialist will work with the Information Services Team to fulfill system integrations and business intelligent needs of the College.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This information is intended to be a descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position.The list of essential functions below does not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position.Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Create and maintain the College's integration processes for the student information system (SIS).
  • Manage and create reports and dashboards using PowerBI.
  • Create script using programming tools to interact with API end points to perform data extraction and batching.
  • System integration utilizing programming language and SaaS middleware solution.
  • Create integration process to ensure consistency of data sources and targets to achieve efficient and scalable solution.
  • Work with integration component concepts such as connectors and operation, Try/Catch methods, error notification and logging, process schedule and etc.
  • Create data model by reviewing data from various sources such as relational databases, API end points and local files.
  • Utilize the data model to publish dataset and create reports and dashboard for users consumption.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Application suites, especially in PowerBI and Power Automate.
  • Knowledge in Boomi SaaS integration tool is a plus.
  • Experience working with relational database such as MS SQL Server, REST API end points in data extractions.
  • Proficient with relational database using SQL languages to perform query, insert, update and delete.
  • Experience in programming or scripting languages. C#, Powershell, Javascript and Groovy/Java. Able to programmatically perform various API actions such GET, POST, PUT, UPSERT and INSERT.
  • Understanding of various data representation format or layout such as XML, JSON, CSV, HTML and fixed width.
  • Understanding in HTTP and SFTP protocols. Previous experience in various authentication mechanism such as Oauth and Oauth2, token based and public/private key based.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS Platformand SaaS environments.
  • Proficiency with concept of API end points, relational database and query, business intelligent reporting and understanding of data warehousing using ETL process combining with data visualization concept.
  • Effective communicator when interacting with technical and functional users, capable of documenting the issue or authoring documentation of the processes in clear and precise format.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree in computer science, full cycle of software engineering development, or information related fieldor any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job.

5 years working experience in information technology, especially in system integrations, business intelligent and reporting is preferred.

3-5 years of working experience in business intelligent and authoring complex reports from data warehouse, CRMs is preferred.

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a regular status, full-time, 12-month, non-exempt, benefits-eligible position.

The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Hours may vary and include night and weekends based on needs of the College or

Department.

Hourly rate range: $45.00-50.00. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None.
