Assistant / Associate Professor (Tenure Track or Tenure) - Art History College of Visual & Performing Arts University of Massachusetts Dartmouth The Department of Art Education, Art History & Media Studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track or tenure) specializing in modern and/or contemporary art history to start September 1, 2025. The College seeks a critically-engaged scholar who situates scholarship within a global framework, and with a possible focus on eco-art, media art, postcoloniality, material studies, curatorial practices, and other interdisciplinary investigations. In particular, the College seeks a scholar who emphasizes methodological innovation and is interested in cross-field collaboration within the College and the University, as well as engagement with the wider arts community of the South Coast region. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing scholarship or creative work commensurate with the requirements for promotion to tenure or full professor and will be expected to develop a program of research that engages undergraduate students and contributes to curricular growth. This individual will also be expected to contribute to the life and development of the department, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader college and disciplinary communities.
