This is an excellent opportunity for a Manager of Latinx Programs (40 hours/week) at our Jackson Street Administration Office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

PPWI's compensation philosophy is rooted in equity. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's applicable experience and internal equity. The Manager of Latinx Programs pay starts from $60,650 per year.
Additional $1.50 per hour for bilingual (English/Spanish)
PURPOSE of POSITION:
The Manager of Latinx Programs will support the mission, vision, and values of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin (PPWI) Education Department by providing direction to the programs and initiatives developed with and for Latinx individuals, families, and communities served by PPWI. This includes ensuring successful outcomes of these programs and initiatives as a means of contributing to health equity across populations.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must support the mission of PPWI and be committed to a culture of diversity,equity, inclusion and belonging and excellent customer service.
- Skilled at providing sexuality education that is age-appropriate, culturally relevant, medically accurate and inclusive; and training others to do this.
- Ability to fluently speak and write in Spanish considering the Latinx culture and language.
- Familiarity in educational program development, implementation, evaluation and academic research.
- Ability to manage a program budget including seeking additional funding opportunities.
- Must possess effective interpersonal skills to relate to a variety of Latinx constituencies.
- Skilled in providing feedback on skills, work and behavior of the work unit and staff.
- Ability to foster collaboration, recognize individual strengths, and provide staff with growth opportunities.
- Ability to understand the role and importance of culture and faith to members of the community.
- Ability to positively interact and communicate with persons of all ages and those who come from high risk and lower income environments, including persons of diverse religious, cultural, racial, sexual orientation and economic backgrounds
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in health education, community health, public health,education,Latino/a studies, or other related field and at 3 -5 years of experience working with Latinx individuals, families, and communitiesin health education, program development, program management and/or community organizing. Equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered.
Must be bilingual Spanish/English.
Supervisory experience required.
SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing feedback; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position is predominantly sedentary requiring the ability to sit, bend, stand and walk. May require occasional stooping, reaching, stair-climbing and repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard. Rarely requires kneeling, pushing/pulling and repetitive motions of the feet.
Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling and grasping regularly. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. Requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax, copy machine and adding machine or calculator.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is generally performed in an office environment or community setting, such as a youth-service organization, community or neighborhood center, or other community organization. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations, however, may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform said essential functions.
This position requires occasional statewide travel, therefore a valid driver's license and auto insurance in accordance with agency liability standards is required. Must have transportation.
Flexibility regarding hours, including evening and/or weekend hours may be necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • include, but are not limited to the following:
Staffing and Training:
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training promotores de salud staff.
  • Train staff to effectively implement programs and monitor implementation for quality.
  • Support training efforts for PPWI staff to successfully serve Latino populations.
* Provide consultation on internal staff training related to providing culturally competent and linguistically appropriate health care services and health education to Latinx patients and clients.
Program Development and Implementation:
  • Manage Latinx Community Education programs by overseeing programs including curriculum development and revisions that support the communities served.
  • Based on current best practices, plan, implement, and evaluate program strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of program evaluation, including data collection processes.
  • Ensure that all PPWI education curriculum content is culturally relevant and medically accurate for the various communities PPWI is serving.
  • Ensure that program goals and objectives are met by creating, reporting and monitoring a program timeline and reaching quarterly goals
Marketing and Communications:
  • Work with the Communications team on strategies to promote Latinx Community Education programs, build relationships with local press/media to raise awareness about PPWI's educational programming in Wisconsin.
Relationship Development & Management:
  • Develop and implement a strategy to maintain and strengthen existing relationships and build new relationships with local, state, national and international partners in order to increase and improve PPWI Latinx programs and initiatives.
  • Advise staff across departments on developing culturally-competent and linguistically-appropriate communications, services, and programs for Latinx communities.
Financial Resource Development and Management:
  • Work in collaboration with Development to obtain departmental resources by providing information for grants in support of education and to identify, foster and sustain relationship with donors, stakeholders and foundations.
  • Work with the Director of Education to develop and monitor an annual program budget.
OTHER DUTIES and ABILITIES:
  • Serve as external trainer, presenter, and lecturer as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as requested.
