Job Description:


The incumbent we seek is dynamic, driven, and passionate about a job well done. This position reports to the Engineering Manager. He or she will champion SKS PS (LEAN manufacturing) in order to achieve quality, cost and customer service objectives.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Create and maintain items, bills-of-materials (BOMs), and engineering routings.Produce items, exploded BOMs, & routings using standard guidelines and terminology common to the SKF Falconer plant


  • Flow-down applicable material, heat treat, process, engineering and quality specifications to ensure that all requirements are accomplished during manufacturing & inspection


  • Work closely with Application Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Management, and Purchasing to ensure Bills-of-Materials and Routings are consistent with current with established practices





Job Skills:



  • Must be able to read drawings and relate dimensional characteristics to shop processes, both manufacturing and inspection operations.


  • In addition, familiarization with controlling internal and industry specifications lends expediency to the production of bills-of-materials and routers.


  • Must possess excellent command of the Infor XA ERP system.


  • Data mining is a key process using the many aspects of the system's coding system.


  • Process Engineers utilize product knowledge and system coding to maintain system data in conjunction with general changes and farther-reaching Business Excellence activities.


  • Familiarity with business economics is needed to produce cost estimates for potential new business.


  • This requires the ability to determine, many times with less than complete design details, bearing processes and expected costs for products, tooling, and other non-recurring expenses.


  • The PE will work with Customer Service and Sales personnel to deliver on-time quotations.


  • Design outputs (routers and BOMs) must be maintained over time.


  • Incorporation of router changes from Engineering Change Notices and Router Change Requests may be accomplished manually or by mass change programs.


  • The Process Engineer must work with Application & Quality Engineering to ensure process controls are maintained both internally and frequently with additional customer requirements.


  • Optimize the utilization of resources in term of people/machines and material inside the channel.


  • Develop a wide variety of reports and analyses of costs, schedules, design changes, and manufacturing methods, processes and tooling.?





Job Education and Requirements:


  • B.S. degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or accounting/finance


  • In lieu of a 4-year degree, a combination of 3-5 years of experience and an Associates of Science degree at a minimum


  • In lieu of an engineering background, must demonstrate a fundamental awareness & understanding of mechanics and various aspects of machines?


  • Proficient with the various financial aspects involved in manufacturing


  • Proficient with computer software & related systems, well-developed written, verbal and communication skills


  • Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace, heavy metal manufacturing is preferred
